The green deal events started in 2020 and will run until 2024. The green deal has been signed by 11 frontrunners, event organizers. They have made agreements to develop a CO2 reduction plan on the topics of energy, materials and plastic, food & drink, mobility, diversity and inclusion. They have drawn up an action plan to achieve the objectives in the agreement.

In earlier research, Summa College sought a vision and approach for the transition to a future-proof learning environment. An important goal is to engage students, teachers, stakeholders, and local residents in this transition with concrete interventions. In this previous research, a climate toolbox was developed. For this project, there is a desire to collaboratively develop a concrete plan with students, teachers, stakeholders, and local residents to transform the hard-surfaced parking area into a climate-adaptive and biodiverse meeting space. The Sterrenlaan location serves as a pilot project to make the start of the transition visually apparent.

Volunteers help residents green their gardens, making the immediate living environment more resilient to climate change and climate-adaptive. This is still just an idea and is not yet being implemented. The current setup of the project has existed for 6 years and provides status holders a place to integrate and participate by maintaining the gardens of vulnerable residents, allowing them to live independently for a longer time.

The municipality of Eindhoven wants to help all homeowners' associations in Eindhoven with the sustainability of their buildings. The offer includes, among other things, an info desk, meetings, courses, a campaign box, and advice. In the long term, process guidance will be added.

Did you know that even if you exercise enough, play sports, and eat healthily, living in the city can be unhealthy? This is related to the quality of the outdoor air we breathe. Therefore, in the Living LAB 040, we investigate how to create residential neighborhoods with healthy air bubbles by experimenting with outdoor air purification based on available technology. Our ambition is to reduce lung diseases, develop a healthy air design methodology for cities, optimize the technology, generate evidence, and translate insights into physical products and guidelines (product development).

By measuring and analyzing energy data, unnecessary consumption can be easily identified and prevented. The results vary by building, with savings of nearly 30% in some cases.

Water and greenery are essential for the design of public spaces in city centers and neighborhoods, supporting social, retail, and recreational activities. This requires freeing up space by using existing buildings more efficiently and reducing car traffic, which leads to more opportunities for greening. In addition, climate adaptation is necessary, such as greening gardens, parks, and roofs.

In the Eindhoven metropolitan region, municipalities and healthcare institutions have united to fulfill their responsibilities and, especially together with the healthcare institutions, implement the agreements from the National Energy Agreement of 2013 regarding sustainable growth and a widely supported, future-proof energy and climate policy. The aim is to further improve the environmental performance of the healthcare institutions. Through this partnership, the partners want to share knowledge, seize additional opportunities for a better environment, and enhance their performance under the motto: Together you achieve more than alone. The participating partners are named below. This Green Deal aligns with a national Green Deal that is also supported by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport.
